XEOMIN is used to for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar line with corrugator and/or procerus
During your treatment with Dr. Johnson or Dr. Smith the areas are cleansed and marked to ensure accuracy. The medication is injected using a very small needle. Many patients say it does not hurt, but some say it feels like a very small bee sting. The procedure itself takes 15 minutes and there is no downtime with this procedure. We ask that you do not exercise the day of your treatment and you cannot lay down for at least 4 hours after treatment.
Some patients may experience minimal bruising, redness and swelling at the injection sites. To minimize this, ice and Arnicare gel can be used. We ask that patients do not take any aspirin or aspirin containing medications for at least 7 days prior to the procedure. Fish oils, Vitamin E, and blood thinning medications such as lovenox, heparin, coumadin (warfarin), and xarelto (rivaroxaban) should not be taken for at least a week prior to the procedure. Discontinuation of any medication should be discussed with your primary care provider.
Botox results are usually seen in 5-7 days, Dysport and Xeomin within 3-4 days. Results can last 3-4 months. Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are charged by the units injected. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Smith will discuss the estimated costs prior to your procedure.
