Dr. Andrea Alexander was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She recognized her interest in medicine at a very young age and attended Debakey High School for Health Professions. It was here that she found her passion for women's health and adolescent medicine.
She graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Biology, Pre-Med. Always having a desire to attend a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) like her parents, she made her way to Washington, D.C. to complete her medical education at the Howard University College of Medicine. She recieved her Medical Degree in 2015.
Dr. Alexander completed her residency training in Obsteterics and Gynecology at the University of Texas in Houston. Her research focused on The Effects of Women's Body Mass Index (BMI) on Cesarean Section Outcome After Prolonged Labor Courses and she has a genuine passion for educating her patients on fun new ways to incorporate a healty lifestyle in today's society and during pregnancy.
Outside of her interest in medicine, Dr. Alexander enjoys blogging about natural hair care, fashion, food, health and the socioeconomic empowerment of disenfranchised populations. You can see her work at www.pagingdrdre.com.
